An OBIE and Lortel Award-winning solo performance, ‘An Iliad’ is based on Robert Fagles’ translation of Homer’s poem, ‘Iliad‘, and has been described as a powerful and mesmerising piece of theatre that delves deep into the story of the Trojan War, reflecting the current and very real horrors of wars.

A talk with the audience will follow the performance on 5 April.

Denis O’Hare and Lisa Peterson are the sole members of Homer’s Coat; a collective that explores foundational literature through adaptation, improvisation and imagination. Their most recent project, ‘The Good Book’ will premiere March 2015.

LISA PETERSON
The co-writer of ‘An Iliad’, director Lisa Peterson has previously worked with Donald Margulies, Tony Kushner, Beth Henley, Naomi Wallace, and Culture Clash, as well as many other theatres including NYTW Public, Vineyard, MTC, Primary Stages, Mark Taper Forum, and many more.

DENIS O'HARE
Winner of several awards including the Tony Award, the Drama Desk Award, and the Audience Award for his portrayal of Mason Marzac in the play ‘Take Me Out’, Denis O’Hare has also worked in film and television, including films such as ‘Dallas Buyer’s Club’, ‘Garden State’, and ‘21 Grams’; while television work includes ‘American Horror Story’ and ‘True Blood’; the former of which earned him an Emmy nomination.
