Ghalia Benali is a Tunisian singer based in Brussels, Belgium and her fluid voice and compositions reflect a full circle of influences from Arabic folk and jazz traditions to contemporary chillout and Indian classical music. In 2008 she won the World of Music Award for the best world music song presented by the independent British organization We Are Listening. Her albums include Wild Harissa, Ghalia Sings Om Kalthoum, and Romeo & Leila. This concert is part of a tour that marks the release of her new album. She will be joined on stage by Egyptian artists such as the cello player Khaled Dagher, percussionist Hany Bedair and guest artist Dina El Wedidi.
