In this workshop, you will learn the Old Egyptian Languages (Hieroglyphic-Demotic-Hieratic-Coptic) and get to know them.

The workshop is formed of two levels; the first level is for the biginners or people who are interested to know the Old Egyptian Language, and the second level would be an advanced one to improve the speaking skills.

Each level consists of 4 lectures+ a visit to the Egyptian Museum by the end of the course to prctice the new skills and will give you a book and a CD contains the workshop contents for both Level 1&2.

Level I consist of: 


- Learning the Hieroglyphic, Demotic, Hieratic, and Coptic handwriting,

- Know the story of Rosette Stone and how its codes were translated,

- Learn the Hieroglyphic letters, how to draw them, and how to write names,

- Know the most important and commonly used words in our language today that was originally Old Egyptian words,

- How to structure a sentence,
- Know the pronouns and how to use them,
- and how to be able to read any of the Pharaohs' names on the antiquities and translate it.

Level II consist of: 

 

- Learn the rest of Hieroglyphic drawings,

- Know the difference between the religious and historical expressions,

- How to use Computer softwares to write in Hieroglyphic, 

- How to use dictioneries to search a word and its meaning,

- Learn how to translate any ancient text.
