Ayten Amin - Egypt - 2013

In a beautiful villa beside the Nile in Cairo, the old but charming Hussein (Khaled Abol Naga) has closed himself off of the world. Only interrupted by daily visits of nurse Hanaa and small conversations with his servant, Hussein’s days pass by quietly. Not realising his past is about to catch up with him, Hussein's sister and her grandson move into the house. They not only disrupt his well established lifestyle but also force him to re-examine his ideas about life, love, and family.

Villa 69 is the first feature film by Egyptian director Ayten Amin and has won the Special Jury Award for a Film from the Arab World at the Abu Dhabi Film Festival. We’re very happy to announce that the director will attending the screening and answer all your questions in the Q&A after the film.

With: Khaled Abol Naga, Lebleba, Arwa Gouda
