Through intensive hands on teaching and personal projects, participants gain a thorough understanding of what it is that defines portraiture. Working with flash, continuous, and natural light participants explore the fundamentals of photographing another person. Both in the classroom and in their own time, they deepen their knowledge of how to photograph people for a variety of uses and in different situations and environments. Participants are expected to work on a personal project from the very beginning of the course and present assignments for comment in class.
Applications for these skills: commercial, editorial, and personal projects.
