HeritageForAll initiative announces - under its slogan "Train yourself in Heritage Context" – Arab Council for the Social Sciences (ACSS)-funded workshop entitled "Urban Architectural Heritage and Social Interaction", in collaboration with the Egyptian Ministry of Antiquities (Cultural Development Administration - Museums Sector "National Rashid Museum").
It aims to come up with applicable recommendations which may help to solve problems or develop creative ideas to upgrade the social and emotional rapport between the local community and cultural heritage in Rashid, Beheira governorate. This objective assists to upgrade the skills of Egyptian heritage operators.
Workshop will take place at the urban architectural heritage zone in Rashid. It will focus on estimating the social and cultural interactions between the local community and the heritage buildings as well as the difference between the modern and historical urban features. It aims to explore by direct observation the effects of these interactions either by positive or negative and the basic requirement especially in the street of Dehliz el-Mulk.
The financial coverage of workshop will be only included a transportation (Cairo to Rashid) and then, back (Rashid to Cairo), accommodation, and meals.
Criteria of selection:
1- Fresh Graduate – Undergraduate (3rd & 4th year "The Graduation Year"):
A- Architecture
B- Urban Design & Planning
C- Heritage Conservation
D- Art & Construction
E- Sociology & Anthropology
F- Tourism
2- Good application file especially motivation letter
3- Being Arabian citizen (including Egyptian citizens) between 14 and 25 years old and living in Egypt
4- Fluency in Arabic, and good command of English
5- High passion to and Good knowledge about the Egyptian cultural heritage
